How to fly airway routes

Featured Replies

HiI created a high-altitude airway flight from KSFO to KLAX at FL330. This is what I got:KSFO OAK AVE DERBB REYES FIM LAX KLAXI understand how to navigate VOR-to-VOR (SFO, AVE, FIM, LAX), but how do you navigate through the reporting points (DERBB, REYES)? Do you just go by GPS?

You can fly AVE -> DERBB and REYES --> FIM using the radials of the VORs that go through the intersections. You can see the flightplan on charts here: http://skyvector.com/As far as I can see is that DERBB, REYES and FIM are on one line.

Are these reporting points? So what you're saying is in order to fly through these waypoints I just have to change my CRS selection to match the heading of the new course?

Points DERBB and REYES are intersections between the route from AVE to FIM and radials from VORs EHF and RZS.Check the enroute L-3 and H-4 charts. You can fly AVE 129 (from) and FIM 310 (from) and watch EHF and RZS on nav2.
