June 13, 201114 yr Hey folks,by chance I just happened to run into a EC135 helicopter and its pilots and got to know about the helicopter laser radar system, HELLAS. FYI, I learned the system is intended to make even very thin objects visible to the pilots, as they still could pose a potential danger to the rotor system - think of cables and such. The manufacturer's website states it works up to distances of 1000 meters, which I think is quite impressive.I have seen how the thing looks from the outside, and I have been told the info is visualized on a seperate screen on top of the glareshield (can be seen here but it's dark). But now I'd really like to see how this screen looks during operation but I can't find anything online.Does anyone have a hint? I'd appreciate it.
