June 30, 201114 yr Hey,question: is it possible to use the LINDA user interface to program FSUIPC "Compound" buttons ?This, if I'm not mistaken, is not entirely the same as the "shifted" mode that LINDA provides.Correct me if I'm wrong on the below statement:- "Shifted" means that you assign one (or more) button(s) as a "shifter", and that you can give your other buttons another function when this shifter button is pressed. Thus, each button on your joystick has the potential of being assigned 2 functions (one normal, and one shifted), right ?- FSUIPC Compound means that any button has the potential to have more than one (and even more than two !) functions assigned, depending on the state of one or more other buttons.Le me explain what I'm trying to achieve (and what I was able to do with FSUIPC Compound buttons):Saitek X52 Pro has a three-mode rotary at the top-right of the stick. I use this as a mode-shifter (need to have the joysticks control panel open for these 3 modes to be seen as simple buttons, but that's not really an issue). In mode 1, I want to map the bottom 6 switches to the autopilot functions (alt hold, hdg hold, etc)In mode 2, I want to map the bottom 6 switches to the lighting system (landing lights, taxi lights, etc)in mode 3, I want to map the bottom 6 switches to the engine starter functions (fuel pumps, magnetos, ...)In FSUIPC this was achieved by using compound button programming --> CP(+0,27)0,13,somefunction for instance. So my question: is this possible in the current version of LINDA ?If so, how ?If not, is it something that we might see in a future version ?ThanksMathieu Mathieu Souphy
June 30, 201114 yr Commercial Member No, currently this is impossible. What you are describing is a quite rare usage scenario. And I'm not sure if I have in plans to develop more advanced joysticks engine. Main problem here is how to make a good and simple interface for that using standard and primitive windows controls.Later I will start the feature request topic, to collect ideas on future development of LINDA... and we'll see how many requests will be about joysticks engine. June 30, 201114 yr Author Okay, no problem. One possible interface design I see for this, is a bit alike the MCP modes tabs you have.On the joystick side, you could foresee a window where we can assign a button to a "mode" (with for instance a maximum of 5 modes). Then for each defined mode, you could add a tab in the joystick assignment list. It's just an idea and I know it's something easier said than done and you probably have other priorities right now, but maybe throw it on your pile of nice-to-haves if some day you find the time to work on these :)cheers,Mathieu Mathieu Souphy
