December 14, 200322 yr Hello, Nice works, again they look good, my opinion only; but sometime looks wrong to me, I can`t explain it, maybe there is too much overdone halow and the color seems wrongs, I am afraid of these repetitive "spider" roads will never match any day time Fs texture. I am telling you this because, I have detected in Fs, many texture from Los Angels and san francisco will repeate on others area, we will probably see with your night light in others area too. Thanks for your efforts and I know it is hard to do continue your great works.BestEric
December 14, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi, "I have detected in Fs, many texture from Los Angels and san francisco will repeate on others area, we will probably see with your night light in others area too."it's not his fault, He can't do anything about this, this is fs generic texture how it's works, this is not a scenery photo sat type like Mega Scenery, most of any day or night MsFs texture are repeated in the entire worlds, not just Los Angeles, this is why it's called generic texture.Example: night texture from Los Angeles will appears in many other areas as well, like San diego etc.. Texture from chicago will appears at hong kong etc and so on. To be 100% accurate you will need to change the total scenery structure and *.bgl in fs and add others textures. The only way to fix this, is to create them less detailed for one area for matching others night scenery area for the entire world.Chris Arrington have done a great job with the generic texture.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
December 14, 200322 yr Chris is right. It's a real struggle to deal with the generic texture on this detailed a level. That is the main reason that I've had to spend almost a year in production. The "spider" roads that you see in this depiction are drawn EXACTLY to the day tile road structure. The funny thing about it is, you don't realize that it's there in the daytime because there is very little contrast. At night it really stands out because I've placed emphasis on the roads. The reason MS didn't do this is because of the amount of effort it takes to manage the appearance after you've brought them to the forefront like that. It's not perfect, and will not please everyone, but I think that some folks will enjoy it. :) Thanks Chris!
