"TOGA LK" annunciation on Airbus A340?

Featured Replies

The above annunciation appears on the PFD, on the far left upper segment (left of the NAV annunciation). What does this indicate? I tried programming the MCDU without a tutorial (PSS A340), but appear to have missed something :).Thanks,Bruce.

Bruce,TOGA LK is not the result of an Auto Thrust fault. THR LK would be displayed if the Auto Thrust system had failed.TOGA LK is displayed after an encounter with the low speed buffet and/or ALPHA FLOOR values. Auto Thrust will engage (even if it was off) and command TOGA thrust. The FMA will show A FLOOR until the A FLOOR condition is left, then it will display TOGA LK in green with a pulsing amber box. To cancel A FLOOR or TOGA LK, you must disconnect the Autothrust. When the FMA announces THR LK after an Auto Thrust fault, thrust control is recovered by moving the thrust levers. That is, you don't have to press the instinctive disconnects or the FCU A/THR pushbutton to recover engine control.Best Regards,Nick
