December 18, 200322 yr I have a problem with one of the norwegian airports. The file that you can download here at AVSIM. At EBNU I get around a 100 feet offset from the runway to the left. How can I correct this. I keep landing in the snow dunes...maybe I should use the Maule with the snow tires. :)Mikkel
December 19, 200322 yr Hi.You talking about ENDU (Bardufoss) runway 10? If it is this airport/runway: LLZ at rwy 10 is offset 2 degrees for terrain avoidance. LLZ course is 107 degrees runway 109 degrees. MAPT i 3 DME DU. from MAPT to landing you are basicly on Vis app. RUNWAY 10 is also LLZ only, no glidepath.Jan Roar Rod
December 19, 200322 yr Sorry, I should have mentioned that it was rwy 28 I was talking about. I come in at hdg 282 and line up around a 100 feet to the left of the rwy. According to the instruments everything is lined up perfectly, but I still land in the snow dunes.Mikkel
December 19, 200322 yr Commercial Member Is this in Fs2004? It is a known problem that the default ILS of MS can not be exclude yet (the new SDK released a few days ago is going to solve this). So if the addon scenery is not at the same location as the default, you are probably flying the default ILS into the addon scenery, which of course gets you down at the wrong position. Now that the SDK is there I expect that this can be solved soon, for example with an updated version of AFCAD that allows you to change or remove the default runway. Arno If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done. FSDeveloper.com | Former Microsoft FS MVP | Blog
December 19, 200322 yr Yes it is, I'm using fs9. I'm not sure about what you are saying. Can I change it already or do I have to wait for another version of afcad to be released?Mikkel
December 19, 200322 yr Ok. Runway 28 at ENDU (Bardufoss). On my ILS app map it says: CAUTION: GP LOCATED 115M EAST of THR RWY 28. LLZ offset 2 degrees..Conclusion: ENDU is not the place for any AUTOLAND unless you will eat some snow/dirt.So our scenery (NORAP2004) is very accurate regarding the ILS and LLZ at ENDU.Jan Roar R
December 19, 200322 yr Hi. Take a look at these two maps for ENDU, one which I have drawn at a bit for you. I think you will find the solution to your incidents there :)http://home.online.no/~kjbersas/div/ENDU_2-1.gifhttp://home.online.no/~kjbersas/div/ENDU_5-5.gif
December 19, 200322 yr Ahhh...I see. I didn't know that. So what would be the actual way to do this? Can I fly the approach as if in autoland, but at some point, say over the MM, I switch off the autopilot and hand fly it the rest of the way?Mikkel
December 21, 200322 yr Just fly this like an normal CATI ILS until you get the field in sight, then fly it by hand (or continue by AP until short final). Also, you should try the LLZ/DME to runway 10, which is more interesting to do. Since there is no glidepath you will need to adjust your altitude manually in reference to the approach plate. Note the hill at the final approach. You would like to follow the PAPI until you pass the end of the lake, but then it's OK to go below the PAPI so you don't land so far down the runway.Take a look at this picture, http://www1.airpics.com/showimg.php?imgid=49393And here is tha plate for runway 10http://home.online.no/~kjbersas/div/ENDU_5-1.gif
December 22, 200322 yr By the way, the only airport in Norway certfied for autoland is ENGM/Oslo Gardermoen. I think ENZV/Stavanger Sola is being tested for it to be certified. But of course, in FS any ILS with a GP and non-offset LLZ will work I think :-)
December 23, 200322 yr I was wondering if you have seen this also. I installed some AI, Wideroe actually, and they fly to these remote airports with very small runways and high mountains around...very scenic. The problem is that the AI can't land, I've seen it at ENSG, ENOV and ENSD. Also, at the ENBL airport the planes takeoff from around the center of the runway?Mikkelp.s. I'm using the lago mesh, I don't know if this makes a difference.
