July 21, 201114 yr Hi I downloaded a sound set for the default Beech Baron 58 FSX. As the default sound kept annoying me and really I didn't like them very much. Someone created a sound pack to add tot he dfault folder whjich add more realistic sounds when Inside the Baron. I had a humming sound which doesn't sound anything like a Baron ( No pistons). This pack adds something more satisfying...( Nothing like the real thing)...But it has a clicking sound that repeats it self every 5-8 seconds and I find this annoying. I have located the wav files for switches and the corresponding in th sound.cfgMy question is how can one edit these out?Berlopez
July 21, 201114 yr Sure, you can edit sound files as you wish (just make sure to keep a copy of the original just incase you screw-up.)The clicking sound you're hearing could likely be at the end as the sound file loops back to the beginning. To edit the sound file you can use Audacity for $free.Cheers,- jahman.
July 21, 201114 yr Author jahman:My suspicion exactly...That it's the loop of the sound file. The pack that I downloaded does not contain any click or switching wavs. The wavs that relate to the clicking sound are in the BB58 original sound folder.I checked the link to Audacity, but must admit it's much too complicated for me. I actually though of deleted the wavs I have found and adding (//) in front of the lines in the sound.cfg file to ommit them ( silence them)?

Install2. Open the wave file3. Make your edits4. Save the file.Section "Editing: Cut, Paste, and More" of the documentation applies. There's also a wiki and a forum.Cheers,- jahman.
July 21, 201114 yr Author I contacted the author of the file Daniel Sallee and will give him a couple of days to respond...Thanks,Berlopez
July 22, 201114 yr Author I restored the default sound file. I installed a tool form Audqacity to eddit and file that opens is completely diferent to the one that plays annoyingly, repeatedly from the file I downloaded. I figure this file is calling the default click sounds form the main FSX sound folder and cannot be edited unless you want to delete all clicking sounds in FSX.Yes I could ommit it by adding the two forward slashes tot he sound.cfg.- But the thing is this file is in the BB58 original sound folder...Not in the addon sound folder I downloaded.

July 23, 201114 yr Author I found another sound file for the Baron. Which doesn't interfere make any clicking sounds. The clicking originated from the fuel pumps and was aliazed via the sound.cfrg to the defaults. Before screwing soemthing up I deleted it and searched for another one. and found a Fs9/FSX sound from a Continental Turbo Intercooler BB58.
