July 25, 201114 yr Hi, I have upgraded my rig and set my FS to all the reccommended Nvidia settings etc. I mostly use the IFLY 737 with airport add ons and REX. My question is this, should it be running around 18-24 (its locked at 24) or should it be better. I continually try and tweak it in order to get the most out of it. Maybe i am just chasing the impossible and its ruining my experiance slightly. Any advice is much appreciatedMy rigOperating System MS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bitCPU Intel Pentium E5700 @ 3.99 GHZRAM 4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (8-8-8-20)Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. July 25, 201114 yr if it's locked at 24fps then you wont get any better than that.i'd say set it to unl;imited and seeing where it averages out at and then lock it somewhere around that number.
July 26, 201114 yr Hi,So you are running a 2 x 1920x1080 resolution in FS? I assume windowed mode since you're in w7 and don't mention a matrox DH2G or TH2G... Since you are running upgraded textures etc and generally have 'improved' the look of FS, I think that those FPS are probably reasonable for such a big resolution. Also, I don't know how much processor power the iFly737 panel eats up...I run FS9 on a 2 x 1920x1200 resolution but in XPx64 and in fullscreen mode through nView (so 3840x1200 - I have designed / coded my own custom panels for this). I have a heavily overclocked i7 machine (2600k 5.1GHz, GTX580, 4GB RAM and FS on an SSD) and I still see FPS dropping down to the mid 20's or even lower in heavy cloud with lots of AI around...If you were seeing that average FPS in a default aircraft with no AI and just stock scenery, then yes, something is wrong!Geoff
July 26, 201114 yr Author Hi, thanks for the advice. Im always in ifly or pmdg aircraft with addon scenery and enviroment running. I am getting an SLI board and another GTX 460 in the coming weeks. This should make a good difference.alan
