aircraft editor/excessively long list on "Select Aircraft"

Featured Replies

I accumulated in FS2002 an extensive list of low frame rate AI aircraft, courtesy of Aardvark and Project AI.These slowed everything down when selecting an aircraft to fly - as the Select Aircraft dialog boxe was preparing itself to show me a whole load of aircraft I didn't want to fly anyway. The answer was to edit the AI aircraft so that they didn't appear on the Select Aircraft menu - I remember using an aircrft editor to switch a flag to make them AI only. When I switched to FS9, I deleted a lot of FS2002 related programs (perhaps unwisely!).The long list of AI aircraft didn't reappear in FS9 until yesterday, when I put in a lot of effort to update the AI planes for the new FDE's for both Project AI and Aardvark. And now there they are, back again! Can anyone recommend an aircraft editor for FS9? And which was that AI only flag again?

Visit http://perso.wanadoo.fr/hsors/FS_Soft/index.html and download AirEd152 and updated airedini file. Use it to change entry 105, Aircraft Type from 0 to 2, then save the file. If you right click an entry, it will open a small window where you can select information about the line.W. Sieffert

O/T related to your post...I've been meaning to fly more often with AI, but the default aircraft really kill my fps. 3rd party AI doesn't, but I haven't been able to find the models for ProjectAI aircraft--only repaints (AI Aardvark I have no problems finding). Any idea where those models can be found? -John

The PAI models are under "Official Files". After the EULA page, look under Paint Kits. Repaints are under "PAI Libraries."

Thanks... I'll look there....Regards,John
