Just ordered the following items for my rebuild: PSU: 750W Corsair TX750 V2 ATX2.3Mobo: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO Intel Z68 (REV B3) Socket 1155CPU:P Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHzCooler: Corsair H60 Water-Cooling CPU CoolerRAM: 8GB Mushkin Blackline #996995 (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 (1.5v) *****Video: EVGA GeForce GTX 570 "HD" 1280MB GDDR5HDD: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 3.5" SATA III Hard Drive ***** I had planned to order the Mushkin Redline, with 7-8-7 timings, but the retailer said I MAY run into problems if I had to make use of their returns policy. They also stated that THEIR overclocking tests had achieved better results with the 1.5v RAM It's already been mentioned here about the Redline being 1.65volt, but the Asus board being rated for 1.5volt RAM Just wondered what your thoughts on the matter might be? Cheers guys

Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

Apparently they were overclocking the RAM? I don't know how the lower DRAM voltage would help their CPU overclock... Anyway, have you checked the qualified vendor's list for that motherboard? That will guarantee compatibility. http://www.asus.com/...P8Z68V_PRO/#MSL After further research for you, that particular RAM isn't on the list. All that means is that it wasn't tested on the board, so Asus won't vouch for it.

There seems to be quite a few members here using the Asus board with either the Redline or Blackline, so I guess either is pretty much okay.

Frankly when it comes down to it, I'd go for the 1.5V Blackline since that's officially what Intel recommends. On that note, I've been running my Corsair Dominator (1.65V) from my last i7 build under volted to 1.55V at stock timings/speed (1600 9-9-9-24 1T). I just feel more comfortable that way. Surprisingly, they run perfectly like this.
