Thanks forum for the tips on finding ProjectAI mdl's

Featured Replies

The other day someone referred me to the paint kits as the source of the PAI mdl's.... I never really flew with AI much--having a slower system really choked things when AI was around. As an experiment, I replaced my default airliner models (the Boeings, MD-83, and DASH) with the PAI models.... Wow--it's like night and day... I can have several models in sight at the same time using the default traffic.bgl with no hit in fps... Just one of the default models would have cut fps by a third before...Regret not doing this a year ago...A question--are there any AI substitutes for the GA aircraft in MSFS? I'd like to try the same experiment with the default Cessnas, etc.... Right now I am limiting my "play" to the lonely copy of FS2002, using the IFR only option. Once I get things working to my satisfaction, I'll port the setup over to COF.... Adding GA to it would be a huge plus...Regards,John

Hi JohnGlad you found the files you needed in the ProjectAI website. What RJ says is spot on AI Aardvark is a good source of AI aircraft but like Project AI, they are mainly commercial jets ie Airbus and Boeing. I have been using ProjectAI for about a year now and have quite good framerates but im on most nights looking at the various flightsimming sites and as RJ also says, havent came across any specific GA dedicated AI aircraft. I understand that u can of course download Gmax or FSDS2 designed GA aircraft and use them as AI but id imagine that using a lot of them would slow down your framerates due to the texturing used (im sure someone will correct me if im wrong). U can of course repaint your default GA aircraft if uve got PSP or any other paint program and also one of the various tools that you need to convert the textures to a format that the paint programs will understand. Anyway sorry cant give you a more specific answer. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here, so hopefully someone can help u. Tom
