F16 afterburner help needed

Featured Replies

I am using the original Viper by Kirk Olsson with the panel that came with Hellanic AF F16 package. I added the F16 effects that Jan Rosenberg created. I cannot get the afterburner effect to appear from the nozzle of the engine. I do get the lamp to light up in the cockpit though. Can anyone help me out with this problem. Thanks alot Andrew

Rosenberg responds :)I gave the Hellenic authors permission to use my effects, and to be responsible for any questions resulting from errors they made in the implementation. For all users having any problems with the afterburner I suggest they download my original F16 afterburner effects file from Avsim...just use my last name in the library search screen. My original download has everything needed for use with Kirk Ollson's great F16 and 3D cockpit and Eric Marciano's great panel and gauges. There are many possible causes for the effect not working:wrong filenameswrong coordinatesother XML gauges that fight with mine for controlwrong info in the panel.cfgetc...Good Luck!JR

I did ad your file from the library. I just cant figure out where I have gone wrong as I followed the direction exactly.Thank you for your reply I will continue to try and figure out what happened.Andrew

Andrew,Are you using a 2D or 3D panel? If 2D only then you need the following gauge cited://----------------------------------fake VC------------------{VCockpit01}size_mm=32,32pixel_size=32,32texture=fakebackground_color=0,0,0visible=0//-------AB/logo light Control via Throttle---------------gauge05=KO_F16_FX!F16_AB_THROGGLE, 0,0,1,1 //--------------------------------------------------------If 3D as well, then:{VCockpit11]}size_mm=32,32pixel_size=32,32texture=$exhaustbackground_color=0,0,0visible=0gauge00=keffect!gforce, 1,1,1,1//-------AB/logo light Control via Throttle---------------gauge05=KO_F16_FX!F16_AB_THROGGLE, 0,0,1,1 //--------------------------------------------------------You need the gauge, one way or another; and if the DSB gaugeis still active then it will fight with mine for control :)JR
