December 23, 200322 yr Hi folks,I've got a serious problem with my recently installed version of MSFS2004. Whenever trying to fly on a constant altitude with the autopilot turned on and flying with usual cruise speed, I don't manage to get the major aiplanes (eg. 777, 747) into a horizontal flight position. I know that there always has to be a tiny pitch up, but the one I get is really unrealistic (up to ten degrees !). Is there something wrong with my rudders or do I have to change certain settings? Please help me, because flying like that means no fun at all!
December 23, 200322 yr Well you cannot expect it to be correct for default airliners. It depends upon many factors in the real world. Try 300 + knots at crz altitude and see what it gives you. [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/betaimg.jpg Randy J Smith
December 23, 200322 yr Hi,The aircraft's pitch at level flight will be influenced by airspeed, altitude and aircraft's total weight. The pithch increases with altitude and weight, and decreases at higher speed. Can you give us some data (altitude, indicated airspeed and weight) so that we try to reproduce the same situation?PacoStultorum numerus infinitus est.
December 23, 200322 yr Left unmentioned is a common setting that you may need to change--make sure you set up FS2004 to report indicated airspeed vs. true airspeed. If you set up a 737 for a 300 kt. cruise and the sim is set for reporting TAS, you'll get a very high pitch up during flight. -John
