Problem with VC

Featured Replies

Let me preface this by saying I have a very antiquated system, but I don't think that's the problem here. I load the NGX and start using the VC with no problems. I go through with normal preflight, however as I'm doing this, the sim gets progressively slower until roughly around the time when I take off and then it becomes a slide show. Ultimately, this culminates in a CTD where upon I get a warning that says something to the effect of the "display driver" has failed and the desktop looks like an old Commodore 64. Then I restart, and everything is fine. So far this has happened every time I've tried to use the NGX(I bought it this morning) and when I'm having problems with the VC, if I switch to the 2D panels, the problem goes away. I also have no problems using the MD11 VC or the 747X VC either. I'm at a loss with this. I'm currently reinstalling FSX as I type this and hopefully that will remedy the problem. Anyone have any ideas? -johnny rodgers

You mentioned antiquated system. What kind of video card are you running? How much memory is installed on it? Does this happen at any airport or only "heavy" addon airports? Give us some detail and we'll see if we come up with some ideas for you.
