December 26, 200322 yr Hello friends,Any opinion about the Cessna Centurion II 210M by Carenado. Is it worth the Money? Does it come with good information guides/manuals?How about sounds, look, and feel? Would yuo please reply your experiences and opinions?I am thinking in buying it, but maybe I can fly something better and maybe freeware. Thanks so much,Juliet Lima
December 26, 200322 yr I don't have it, mostly because I reached the limit of my payware "budget" last year. But when it was released, it received glowing reviews from almost all of the regulars here. I'd really love to see them do a P210...I'd likely get it in a heartbeat....-John
December 27, 200322 yr It's a very well done aircraft. Only two negatives I can think of right off hand - the engine sounds need help (I used the sounds from something else - I forget what), and the elevator trim tab moves the wrong way (but then I think the MS default Cessnas do also - no biggie). The powerplant settings/specs are reasonable and the panel is well done and complete. I have a little PIC time in the Centurion and, in my opinion, the package is a reasonable representation of the real thing, and worth the price. In fact it's the only payware plane I have.Leon
December 27, 200322 yr HiI purchased this aircraft from Carenado back in August and have failed to download it. I have a 56K Modem and average 5.72kps with most file downloads, but with this only 1.92kps! the last took 4 hours and was corrupt. Carenado's support and access attitude needs a major overhaul. They are certainly not helping me!Good luck if you buy!Bob Wright
December 27, 200322 yr I enjoy this bird very much. I have a friend who flys one in the CAP, and he said stated that it really models the "truck" feel of the aircraft well. The vc is very clear and smooth, and the 2d pit offers an IFR and VFR panel. I use the Reality XP Garmin 530 with the plane and it works beautiful. I am not sure about the elevator trim problem as stated earlier. I have had no issue with it. Be sure to read the documentation on the autopilot. This is not anything you are used to if you have only flown default aircraft. It is a very enjoyable and accurate plane. Remember, we are in the sim world, not real world. I own several payware planes and could nit pick something out of all of them. Get it and enjoy it. scott
December 27, 200322 yr Well,I'm flying a real C182 and I think this is the most "real" Cessna model in the market. Don't hesitate to by it. It is worth every cent of it.Vassilis
December 27, 200322 yr Its funny that I would see this post two days after I bought this product because I researched all the GA planes I was interested in(reviews, forum feedback, etc.)and could find very little infomation on the Centurion. My Sister owns a 182 and she took me up a few times and let me "FLY IT" so to speak so I thought I would take a chance and buy this similar aircraft!I,m glad I did because I,m quite happy with it!!! To answer your questions; 1. Yes its worth the money, although it only comes in one paint scheme but I have looked around and found several repaints! 2. The manuals are good IMO and not overdone! 3. As far as I can tell it sounds like a Cessna to me(just about like my Sisters!) 4. I like the way it flys(I,m not a real pilot!).Its a good cruiser and IMO it flys like a Cessna would fly! P.S. The only problem I,ve had with it is looking out the side windows! If you lower your view to view the bottom of the wings(I have AC2004)then you can not see over the dash! What I did was set up several views with AC2004 for landing, side views, passenger seating,BLAH,BLAH,BLAH! I say its a winner! If you buy it you will enjoy it! HOPE THIS HELPS! JUKEBOX"SOMEDAY I WILL FLY IN A REAL B-17"!!!
December 27, 200322 yr Indeed this VC viewpoint problem is about the only negative aspect I can think of, and several people who have flown the real thing have said that they had to move their had quite a bit to get a good view to the side - so it seems that the cockpit is acurately modelled, the only problem is that moving your head in the sim is not as easy as in the sim ;)The plane has a lot of positive aspects:* Gorgeous external model* Very sharp and nice looking virtual cockpit* Good performance (climb/cruise)* Good FPS* Unique and authentic radios and auto pilotSo if you are looking for a high performance single, the Carenado 210M is a really good choice.Just my 2c (EUR),VOlker :]
