I can't see throttle panel and N1 thrust ?

Featured Replies

Hi, I cannot see the throttle levers to adjust elevator trim which has given by FMC in 2D cocpit mode. Could you please help me? I don't want to start in 3D cocpit view mode then switch back to 2D just for this :). Another question is, I watched a video about taking of new 737NGX. Moderator inputting an "57C" temparature to the FMC for N1 thrust calculation to take off and climb. I couldn't understand why and how did he calculate this? Could anybody explain? Rolling Eyes.gif Thank you in advance.

In 3D cockpit view, just press the spacebar and hold while moving the mouse and zooming in or out with the wheel on the mouse. Once you get the view you need, let go of the spacebar. Put your mouse cursor over the trim wheel and roll the mouse wheel to change the trim. The reason behind putting the temperature into the FMC is explained quite well in the tutorial flight. You can do calculations like this using a program called TOPCAT which is highly recommended.

Hakan, There is no 2D throttle popup. As I understand it, this is one of the ways the dev team was able to streamline the code. What you saw with the 57C entry into the CDU was the use of the "assumed temperature" method of takeoff thrust reduction. Since the FMC will command less thrust at higher temperatures, telling the FMC that the temperature is much higher than it truly is saves wear and tear on the engines by operating them at a lower than normal thrust. In real world operations, this can save a great deal of money on engine maintenance, to say nothing of the reduced fuel costs. There's a program called TOPCAT that will calculate the best assumed temperature for this method of derated takeoff (it does a lot more than that), or you can simply add 40 degrees to your current actual temperature, which should be close enough for the sim.
