August 8, 201114 yr I've done a few searches without luck for the 737NGX and the 737NG for FS9, which were the results I've found, do not help. The problem is I can not get the the FMC setup correctly. I want to fly from KBNA to KMIA. The route I'm entering is BNA..J45..ATL..J89..HITTR..J91..INPIN..J85..THNDR and after I complete the FMC setup and check the legs page the alt and spd at the waypoints are blank. When I try to engage the LNAV and VNAV (obviously) they will not engage. When I take off I cannot get the autopilot to engage (why would it) so that I can command it to fly to the first waypoint and climb to ATC commanded alt. The only information I have found said this will be covered in tutorial 2. Can someone help me with a flowchart/tips/advice to properly configure the FMC for this flight? Thanks,Ed P.S. - PMDG this is an amazing product. I'm very happy to be one of it's owners. Edward Smoker Sr.
August 8, 201114 yr Ed, FMC setup is covered in tutorial one, which is included with the product. I'd suggest going over that a few times. Now that said, it almost sounds like you don't have the performance initialization page filled out. I know you said you complete the FMC setup, but if you don't have the performance data filled out, you won't get altitude and speed data on the legs page.
August 8, 201114 yr Author I did read over the tutorial step-by-step several times; however, it does not cover departures without a SID which is my case. Still I pulled each step of my current flow chart from the Tutorial and followed it. I do have the perf data section completed. The ZFW, reserves, cost index, and flight level (FL310 in this instance) are completed. I do not enter the trans alt as it reads 18,000 now. According to the tutorial I should see the alt/spd predictions filled in when I press LEGS (pp 39); however, that is not my case. I press forward anyway and complete thrust, flaps, CG, and V-speeds. I know I'm doing something wrong but cannot figure out what it is. Edward Smoker Sr.
