Pixel Shader

Featured Replies

I have finally gotten my 32" TV working with my computer. I have a Sapphire HD 4650 video card (1Gb) connected via a HDMI cable. Everything seems OK till I try to run FSX . I get a message that the pixel shader needs a Radeon 8500 or greater to run FSX. This only happens when I use the 32" TV monitor and not when I use the 19" ADI monitor hooked via a DVI cable. Yesterday I did get the 32" monitor to run with a VGA cable but the video was not as god as with the HDMI cable today. I think the VGA cable is limited to only 1024 x 768 and I am running 1280 x 768 (HDMI). Any idea how to get around this pixel shader message which is keeping FSX from loading/running on the larger 32" monitor? Terry

Try changing the name of your fsx.cfg file to something else to force FSX to rebuild that file for your new video hardware. Cheers, - jahman.

I tried this and it had zero effect on it. Still will not let the FSX program to load or run.. This is the msg I get and I have to re-boot the computer to stop the starting of the program. "This graphic card does not meet the minimum requirement for shader support. This product requires a G force 3/Radeon 8500 class or better graphic card. Flight sim will now exit." My card is a Sapphire HD 4650 (1Gb) with current drivers as of August 2011. Terry
