Do changes made in the CDU save without saving the panel state?

Sorry to ask this but where I am I can't test it. E.G. If you change an option via the menus in the CDU (such as autoland:FAIL PASS to FAIL OP) does the sim remember that change without you saving the panel state? Thanks.
