The AVSIM Ombudsman

Featured Replies

Just prior to the September Flight Simulation Conference in Lake Tahoe, we announced the creation of the AVSIM Ombudsman. This position is held by Fr. Bill Leaming, a well known and respected member of the flight simulation community of long standing and whose presence on staff we greatly value and appreciate. What is an ombudsman and what role does Bill serve here at AVSIM? In our never ending quest to provide quality service to the community, and to represent that community to the best of our abilities, we have created this position to be YOUR representative to the Board of Directors and staff of AVSIM Online. The ombudsman position is a non-share holding, non-voting member of the AVSIM Board of Directors, and as such has a voice and input to the board; your voice and input. The other role that the ombudsman fills is that of intermediary between the user community and the Senior Staff at AVSIM. It is the ombudsman's job to speak on behalf of the users of AVSIM, and "champion their cause" when asked. Also, he can function as a mediator between an individual user and the Senior Staff. If you have an issue that you feel needs the attention of an objective party, Bill is the guy to contact on our staff. If you need to, you can contact Bill in confidence at [email protected].

Welcome, Bill. :)And thanks, Tom and AVSIM. I sure appreciate it and I assume others do as well.Dave
