January 1, 200422 yr I have several addon sceneries, such as BOSTON,VEGAS,LAX..etc..in their own folders, and each folder has its own scenery and texture folder.I put all these in the ADDON SCENERY folder. In the scenery.cfg it showed as Title=Addon Scenery,Local=Addon Scenery. For a long while, this worked just fine. But when I added another scenery or more, the new scenery did not display when FS2004 was booted up. Even though I clicked on the scenery setting, exited and fired up FS2004.Las resort, I had to edit the scenery.cfg manually inserting individual addon sceneries:Local=Addon sceneryVEGAS,Local=Addon sceneryBOSTON,Local=Addon sceneryLAXThis way it works.I would appreciate any insight on this.Happy New Year.Thanks.Abe
January 1, 200422 yr Author If you are adding scenery with separate scenery and texture folders, I believe you will be better off placing them in the ..Flight Simulator 9Scenery folder vice placing then in the ADDON SCENERY folder. If you look at the default scenery.cfg, you will find:[Area.038]Title=Addon SceneryLocal=Addon SceneryLayer=38Active=TRUERequired=FALSERemote=This causes the entire ADDON SCENERY folder to be cataloged. If you place new scenery *.bgls and texture *.bmp files in the ADDON SCENERYScenery and Texture folders, there is no reason or need to add a new entry in the Scenery Library because of [Area.038].However, if you start putting subfolders into ADDON SCENERY, such as:..ADDON SCENERYMYSCENERYScenery..ADDON SCENERYMYSCENERYTextureit has a tendency to confuse the scenery generator and may cause scenery cataloging each time you start the flight sim, which is why I recommend installing those type addons in the ..scenery folder and adding the location to the Scenery Library...SCENERYMYSCENERYScenery..SCENERYMYSCENERYTextureW.
