March 17, 200422 yr Can you help me find a really good A320/321 Airbus - I don't mind Shareware-Payware or Freeware. Sad fact is my all time favourite commercial aircraft was the PSS Airbus Series, this aircraft no longer works (for me) in Fs9. Any help would be appreciated.Disclaimer; PSS are a great Team, I have no problems with them at all. I'm sure they they will fix the Airbus given time. For now though I'm 'in regression'.KenSomerset, England
March 17, 200422 yr iFDG best A320 model with A321 and 319 coming in the future..PSS best panel etc. Why wont it work in FS2004 for you..I've had it running perfectly since the patch was released...
March 17, 200422 yr iFDG is the way to go for the A320, no doubt.Alex Christoff's panel seems best if you want to keep it simple, Eric Marciano's if you want it a little more complex.
March 17, 200422 yr You don't say why PSS doesn't work. If the panel is working right now my personnal favorite is:Model: IFDG;FDE: Pedro Oliveira (but the one that cames with IFDG)Sounds: a320sndpkg.zipPanel: PSSJos

March 17, 200422 yr Thanks for your replies gentlemen,My system is =Dell 8100Pentium P4 2.4GbRD Rambus 512MbNvidia G4 4200 128MbCreative Audigy2 Sound CardOther normal bits and piecesI purchased the PSS Airbus Series soon after it was released, never had a problem with, once I remembered to enter a reasonable altitude before T/O :). This was in FS2002 of course. Also 'Read The Something Manual'.Now in Fs9, first problem is the 'flickering' curser - its difficult to change Instrument settings when you can't tell your - from the +.Then then change of windows is sticky, a delay of 4/5 seconds before the required window appears, aircraft wants to trn right on the T/O roll - if you try to 'hold' it straight it turns right. Also I find it impossible to unstick. Another, not serious but irritating, chore it that it is necessary to load another aircraft before loading the Airbus. I gave up at this point. I will keep checking to see if the mouse curser problem gets solved, then try again.Ben, I noticed that you mentioned a Patch - I could not find one; but I have always assumed that PSS include any patches etc into the Installer? Do you know if this still happens, or should I look again for a Patch?Again, I have a high regard for the PSS Team; Fs9 have proved to be a difficult medium for Developers.
March 17, 200422 yr HiI had the same problems (fs2004), cure, (for me) unistalled PSS (add/remove programs), then deleted remaining directories, downloaded the installer again, ran the installer and all those problems were corrected. Patches are included in the installer.Juan
March 17, 200422 yr This is how I've done it:1 - Install the new installer PSS plane in FS2004;2 - Install an IFDG CFM engine plane;3 - D/L and install this sounds http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...atID=fs2004snds in the IFDG plane;4 - link the IFDG plane to the PSS panel (I prefer to copy the PSSAB-Pro panel to the IFDG panel)5 - Add in the lines (panel.cfg) that have in the ECAM_UPPERV and ECAM_UPPER gauges the ,2 (this will ensure that the ECAM will reflect CFM engines)After this you will notice that the EGT will be in the red, as far I can tell there isn't any problem with that but of course you can change the maximum value in the FDE.Jos
March 17, 200422 yr Quote: "Now in Fs9, first problem is the 'flickering' curser - its difficult to change Instrument settings when you can't tell your - from the +."I had exactly the same problem in PSS A321 with the flickering mouse cursor. I then decided to upgrade my MS Intellipoint with a newer driver I found on the net to see if it should cure the problem. When I had uninstalled the old MS driver I rebooted my XP and the mouse now worked with the default XP driver that comes with the OS. I decided to give it a shot, and started up PSS A321. No flickering mouse! It was gone. So I skipped the upgrade, and am now using the default driver in XP with no problems what so ever in all software including games. I also changed the cursor to standard cursor (no 3D or animated stuff). Maybe this can help someone.Jan Bergwall
March 19, 200422 yr Hi Jose,I d/l the IFDG Airbus, added the PSS Panel; I'm just waiting for a friend to download the sounds you suggested :) - on my Dial-Up it would take until Christmas.I still have the flickering mouse curser though - funny thing is that there is no problem with the Overhead Panel - no flickering or delay when clicking on the various buttons etc. The flickering on the other panels has slowed down a little - so I might be able to fly the Airbus. For the time being I have Aliased the PSS Sounds.Thank you for your help, I will let you know how I get on.Thanks to everyone else for their help, I am following up some of your suggestions also. I have a Logitech 'wireless' keyboard and mouse, maybe that doesn't help.KenSomerset, England
March 19, 200422 yr Hello again,Good news and bad news; which do you want first??? OK! the good news it is. My flickering mouse curser is cured! weeeee! No problem in either the PSS Airbus or the IFDG. Now the bad news! I could have saved myself a lot of heartache and stress? (we oldies normally do not recognise stress!!); if I had only taken notice of a Message from PSS which is anchored at the TOP of the PSS Forum. That message contains a Link to a Patch that cures the 'quivering' mouse curser! To be fair to me, I did see and read the message; but I ignored it thinking it would be included in the Installer, thus I never looked at it again, until this afternoon. On the other hand because of my oversight, I have met a few more of the very helpful simmers that frequent these Avsim Forums; also I now have a very nice IFDG Airbus A320, which I can use for Pilot Training :) - so a pretty useful weeks work methinks!Again thank you all for coming to my assistance; also thank you to PSS (I know they won't see this posting, but the thought is there). My acknowledgement to IFDG - nice aircraft. Now back to my PSS Airbus.Ken'Thicko of the week' :)
