January 1, 200422 yr Happy New Year All!!!My first post of 04! I was setting up my personal webpages and came across this awesom flight tracking tool from a site called Flightcomm.com (www.flightcomm.com). If you click on the "Track a Flight" button you can track the status of any flight arriving or departing the United States or Canada. This isn't a graphical interpretation, it's more like a flight status board you see at airports. If you've ever wondered which carrier flies between Pittsburgh and Denver, enter in Pittsburgh as your departing airport and enter Denver as your arrival airport and you're presented with a list of Airlines, Flight Numbers, and arrival times. The best part of this displayed info is you can click the status link and get real-tim info on the flight such as current position (satellite weather map), current altitude, airspeed AND, the equipment being used (aircraft). Here's an example of this use of this tool. Let's say you want to fly to Boise, Idaho and you want to know which carriers fly into KBOI, just enter in KBOI as the arrival and no deprture airport and it will show you EVERY flight into KBOI.From my toying around with this service, I noticed that it displays only "direct" flights to the arrival airport if you specify a departure airport. I did a search for Southwest flight 2705 originating out of Houston arriving Seattle and it didn't display any flights. When I went to the Southwest site, the flight makes a stop in KPHX so when I entered KPHX as the departure airport, it showed up.Give it a try and see for yourself - it's FREE! Have a good one!!Mikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg
