January 2, 200422 yr Sirs,When ATC asks you to call "localiser established" is that when you are tracking the localiser and stabilised on the approach or when you are intercepting the localiser. When do pilots usually make the call? Thanks,
January 2, 200422 yr no pilot here but at the angle inwhich ATC has you intercept the LOC or ILS there is not a great amount of time before the needle starts moving and it becoming centered. However I would say centered on the LOc tracking it inbound would be the answer.NP
January 2, 200422 yr Author Nathan is correct.A 'localiser established' call is made when you are centered on the localiser but NOT centered on the glide slope. In a similar situation you may be asked to "call established" or "call fully established", your call would then be made once LOC and g/s are centered.
