757 in General

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I just want to ask a few questions about the 757. Now i know the cruising speed is mach .80, but what do airlines on average cruise the 75 at, in mach today, due to expensive fuel and the age of the 75 itself. Also do winglets effect the 757's handling chararistics itself? e.g more roll? Lastly is Boeing considering a replacement (apart from the 739) for the 757? Cheers, Tom

Average cruise speed today is 0.72 without winglets and with winglets 0.75. Winglets increase the fuel efficiently. 757 replacements is the Boeing 737-900ER and the new Boeing NSR (New Short Rage Aircraft) which is meant to replace the 737.

In FSX I am always punching in 110 in the Cost Index and cruising at 0.80.....LOL Good thing the fuel is free in FSX.
