How to track to Vor or ADF using autopilot no FMC

Featured Replies

Hello Sorry if this is a dumb question, is it possible to track direct to a navaid without programming the FMC im just curious as I was practicing some go arounds and was trying to work out how to do this, I suppose the only way to do this rather than manually flying to the aid would but to put into the legs page and execute, many thanks Wayne

It's possible to track a VOR radial using the VORLOC function on the MCP in conjunction with the course selectors. The FD 'master' side course selector will be the course used. VOR 1 or VOR 2 can be used like this. Tracking ADF bearings using an AP mode other than LNAV (And thus tracking using the FMC position info) is not possible.
