FSD T-38 Gauges?

Featured Replies

Hi. I have installed the FSD T-38 in FS2002 and FS2004. The gauges do not showup for most of the panel. I used FSPanelStudio and the FSDT-38 gauge file will not open in either simulator. I have tried logging on to the FSD site with no luck. Can anyone tell me how to install the gauges? I hate self installing installations. The gauge file shows up in both gauge folders but will not unpack. Thanks, regards, Bob.

well Bob I think you have to trust the selfinstaller here, because I recently installed the Talon in FS2004 and it works flawless. And I think it's worth it with the new effectfiles Jan Rosenberg is making at this very moment.Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. Hi Rob. Which installer did you use? I used the FSDT382K2.exe and even the fsdt38sr.zip service release. I get FSDT38 gauge file of about 911k in both sims but they won't open. The plane is spectacular and I'd sure like to get the panel working. Thanks, regards, Bob.

Bob,If you are not prepared to use self-installers, you may not always have all the files delivered where they are supposed to go.The FSD gmax T38 - which I would like to emphasise was FREEWARE for FS2002 - made use of some older FSD MIL type gauges that were not written conforming to the FS2002 SDK. In fact some were created for FS98 FSD projects. These are the gauges that won't be working. We recycled some FSD military jet engine gauges to cut down the development effort of this FREEWARE project. To make some of those old gauges work in FS2002 required FSUIPC which also was Freeware at the time we released the T38, about two years ago now. I don't even know how those obsolete FSD engine gauges work with the unregistered version of FSUIPC in FS2004.The core T38 gauge pack Tim created for the FS2002 T38 itself works fine in FS2004. To FSPS, if you 'disable .dll dependencies' it will work to some degree with the core gauge pack. The trouble with FSPS is it allows for the extraction of Copyright gauge art : the gauge packs we create now have a protection mechanism in them to prevent the extraction of artwork. Please note that we do not support the FSD FS2002 T38 in FS2004 as there are too many changes we feel are needed to meet our standards in FS2004 and we don't have the time to implement them right now. Gauges are one aspect, and the flight model is another. If time permits we may look at it again but it's not on our current schedule at the moment. It was a great FREEWARE project, and it would be nice to revisit it at some point.Rgds,http://www.fsd-international.com/team/Steve_signature.gif

Hi Rob. Thanks. That's the one I used too. Most of the gauges will not display in FS2002 or FS2004. Regards, Bob.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the info. I do have the registered FSUIPC in FS2004. The gauges that won't work are in the FSDT38.gau file. All the rest work OK. I was not trying to extract your artwork. I just tried using FSPS when all of the gauges did not display in FS2002 or 2004. I do realize that it ws freeware in FS2002 and was just trying to get it working for myself in FS2004. Thanks and best regards, Bob.
