First Officer's FD indicator light issue?

Great maiden tutorial flight! Lots and lots to learn!! Following the tutorial diligently, preparing the PMDG House WL as instructed, I noticed that whilst Captain's seat FD switch produced instant "FD" announcement on PFD, the switching on of FD on the First Officer side, didn't light anything up on his PFD. I'm not referring to the Master indication by the way, which was OK on the Captain's side. Then, just as I was about to hit TOGA, I checked and saw that the FD annunciation was by now lit up on the First Officer's PFD. TO went ahead as it should. So, back to my question: is it correct that the PFD FD annunciation should NOT light up right away on the First Officer's side when you first switch the FD on? I would have expected it to light up just like on the Captain's side ... Grateful for any feedback on this. David
