Hurricane Irene

Featured Replies

Hello, I was checking out Irene in the ASE whether finder and I noticed that all of the stations in the area (San Juan up to the Turks and Caicos) are reporting wind speeds of 0 kts. Is this becuase none of them are currently reporting any wind speeds? Second, I know ASE depicts hurricanes and the WX finder shows Irene over the Turks and Caicos right now. If I go there in the sim, does ASE depict the current metar (0 kts) or will I see ASE depcted hurricane conditions?

Hi Jeff, When the stations shut down for whatever reason and the data is zero, that is what you are going to get at those stations in FSX. There is no way ASE knows that the stations are shut down and not just really reporting winds of zero. Now, outside of those stations you should get hurricane conditions.

Ok. That makes sence. I tried to answer my own question buy, um, firing up FSX. I did see moderate rain and low visibility at Providenciales but no wind.
