August 24, 201114 yr Question: In the NGX manuals, it says you should NOT pre-load a default aircraft and then load the NGX, and refers to it as a common "FSX'ism", which leads one to infer that it is wrong to do so. Yet, with the J41, we have traditionally been told it is essential to pre-load a default aircraft. Obviously, these two items are in conflict. So, is the instruction in the NGX manual to not pre-load a default aircraft specific to the NGX alone, or does it represent a new understanding of best practices that we should now be applying to the J41 and other aircraft? August 24, 201114 yr First,J41 not has panel saved function, not like NGX has full function like panel saved and startup state,so it's still recommend select default aircraft first. Jia-Hsing Fu
August 24, 201114 yr Author First, then what? The NGX manual doesn't really say its because of the panel save function, so I'm not sure that explanation is why. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
August 24, 201114 yr Select default aircraft and fly now, next select J41.Note: will enter cold&dark condition. Jia-Hsing Fu
August 24, 201114 yr Author No, that isn't right. If you run another aircraft first and don't do anything else, it will enter in a running condition. Never mind, I'll wait for someone from the team to get back to me. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
August 24, 201114 yr @Doug That's strange,i always used this procedure to enter C/D before.Maybe try to shut down default aircraft engine first then select J41. Jia-Hsing Fu
August 24, 201114 yr Author Yes, you can enter C/D by going into the Cessna, or whatever, and turning off the engine and battery, but I'm pretty sure that misses stuff. Personally, I use FS2Crew and it has a C/D set up built in. Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
