1. Yes2. GTX-580 (if you have money to spare, throw in a new mobo, i7 with a Noctua D14 cooler for overclocking, and some Kingston HyperX. Oh, and a 30 in LCD like the HP ZR30W) Trevor

Most people are very satisfied with the Intel+Asus+nVidia combination, i.e CPU, motherboard, GPU.

My system specs: Asus P8Z68 V-ProI5 2500K Sandy Bridge - Easy Overclock to 4.5 with the AutoTune Ultimate Turbo ProcessorH60 Corsair CoolerKingston Mem DDR3 1600650 Power SupplyEVGA Geforce GTX 470 With Orbx (Fullterrain.com) at YMML airport all sliders to the right I am getting 25 to 35 Frames per Second.With FSDreamTeam.com at KJFK airport all sliders to the right I am getting 25 to 35 FPS. With the ASUS Motherboard, I can easy overclock with a couple of clicks to 4.5. With my old system: i7 950Evga x58 moboEVGA Geforce GTX 470 I could NOT used Orbx: YMML airport or JFK airport due to 11 to 12 FPS. I did not overclock the i7 950 because of the old BIOS system and seemed too complicated. With my new ASUS MOBO and system, it actually brings FSX to its knees. I did not get the I7 2600K because of the research online that FSX does not use HyperThread Technology. This is more for video editing. I save the extra $100 and got me the H60 Corsair cooler and use the rest towards purchasing 1600DDR3 MEM so i can overclock. When you get a chance, take a look at this video:
