January 7, 200422 yr Greetings all,I came across this chart, and I thought I'd give a shot on the approach to LSGS. First thing is that the chart labels the runway as 08/26 and in FS9,X-Plane and in real world, the runway is 07/25. Makes me wonder why?According to the attached chart, the runway is equipped with ILS/DME. In X-Plane, you get a DME reading for ISI but not in FS9. Is this another euro navaid that FS9 forgot to include?I also noticed that the LOC is not at the same place as the chart indicates. The ILS range is also lower than what the chart says.Well well. Does anybody have a fix for this?I appreicate your feedbacks.Best regards,Naresh
January 7, 200422 yr Can't speak about X-Plane or real World but I have flown into and out of LSGS numerous times in FS2k, FS2k2, & FS9.Interestingly looking in FSnav in FS9 LSGS runways are in fact shown as 07/25 (75/255 degrees) but the only details I have for Sion is from DAD http://www.dangerous-airports.com/ and from the VACC-SAG web site, both of those list the runways as 08/26.I have just realised that I also have a real World chart for IGS and it shows the runway as 26.I cannot comment on the location of the LOC as I have no information on that, however looking at FSNav ISI looks about right.I thought I had DME on ISI but just checking I don't (FS9) so must have followed the g/s down to 4,500ft.I know there have been one or two missing navaids released for FS9 but I cannot remember if ISI was one of them and I cannot find anything on my system.Have you searched the Avsim library for LSGS to see if any replacements are available for ISI?Try a search on Daniel Gauthier as author. Also try www.aviasim.ch
January 8, 200422 yr Thank you very much for the reply.I did search for LSGS or SION at avsim.com but to no avail.I'm not from the region and have not been to Sion but these pictures prove that the runway is labeled 07/25 like in FS9:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/473338/M/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/378599/M/I have not actually tried Daniel's great Sion scenery yet. He does have a visual approach chart for the airport but does not say anything about ILS/DME. He also notes that he does not have FS2004. :)Like you said it is best to follow GS down to 4500' and approach visually. Here are some pics from my flight to SION: (just making it some little more interesting) :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/56747.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/56748.jpghttp://home.att.net/~stpaulair/jan05.jpghttp://home.att.net/~stpaulair/jan04.jpgNotice the ILS/GS does not reach upto 16000'Thanks again for all your help.Regards,Danzian
