Re-loading flights without changing variants

I've noted the advice about re-loading on page 0.00.22 of the Introductory Manual regarding NGX's dislike of being "reloaded" and the recommended workaround. Does this need for workaround apply equally if you're (say) practising a particular approach and want to start over, reloading the same approach setup again? Sounds like you do, but just checking, because it takes a bit of time to reload the "unwanted" variant and then load the desired setup in your original variant, just when you're trying to shoot as many approaches as possible over the early-morning coffee!
