Bug: lose cockpit sounds and mouse wheel with multiple monitors

Recommended Posts

It seems there is a "window focus" problem when you have more than one monitor installed, and you move the cockpit or some other display to another monitor, and click on it. You still hear the outside engine sounds, but all cockpit sounds (air blowing, button clicks) go silent. To reproduce: 1. Install second monitor on system, choose "extend desktop" in Windows settings so it's a connected desktop2. Run FSX in full screen3. Go to 2D cockpit, move cockpit to the second monitor and expand outside view to all of first monitor4. Click on anything in the cockpit. Note you lose cockpit sounds.5. Note you can recover cockpit sounds by clicking on outside view (first monitor). The way it should work (I'm pretty sure) is you shouldn't lose cockpit sounds when you click on something in the cockpit. A similar, related bug is when the "focus" is on the outside view, you can't use the mouse wheel on the second monitor unless you first click it to get "focus." Same steps as above, but: 4. Click on outside view to give it "focus"5. Move mouse to second monitor, e.g. a dial normally controlled by mousewheel. Note the mousewheel has no effect.6. Note you can click on anything on the cockpit to give it "focus" (and note you lose cockpit sounds as above) and now the mousewheel works. The way that should work is when you move the mouse over a dial control on the second monitor, the mousewheel should affect that dial and you should not have to click it first to operate it. (This is just a bug report I'm submitting, unless anybody knows of a fix already for it!)

It does fix the sound problem, but the mousewheel problem is still not fixed. To reproduce: 1. Do 1-3 above2. Click on anything on the second monitor (losing "focus" from the main display)3. Try to use the mousewheel over a dial or other mousewheel control. Note the mousewheel has no effect.4. Note if you click on the main monitor display (getting focus back to the main window), the mousewheel now works The way it should behave, is the mousewheel should still work even if you click on something on a secondary monitor. (This is still just a bug report BTW, I love this airplane!!!)
