Might be a good product for people who are not computer literate. This sounds like Microsoft's System Restore system when things go bad. I can't see where this utility would have any effect on FSX. Best regards,Jim

It will have zero effect on FSX, and is a great program to use - but it's written for College and University classrooms - not home users - and particularly in the way in which we use our machines. It is similar to Windows System Restore point, Jim - but on steroids. When a pc is 'frozen" it is literally that. Any changes one makes to the pc are gone at the next reboot. The image can be updated only by unfreezing, say - having a PMDG 737 installed, then re-frozen. The 737 will be there at the next reboot - and this is fine, but it may be along with any problem which the install created. We guys are forever downloading this and that, and trying this tweak, or that tweak. Many of those tweaks, updates, etc., require reboots! One can create a "user area" for "private" use - messages, emails, downloads, etc., that DF will ignore, but be prepared for a ton of work keeping DF abreast of any other changes which you make - from MS Windows Updates, Anti-virus Updates, aircraft patches, files you save, logbook.bin, saved flights, etc..In a classroom environment a student can inadvertently download a virus, can delete files, can install keylogging software, can change how a screen looks, with complete impunity - and so on. That is not acceptable in the classroom, and so an XP, Vista or Windows7 image is built with standard applications, like Word, Excel, Adobe Reader, Oracle Client, SQLPlus, etc., all apps taught within the institution - then the image is frozen by DF via a control server. A student logs in, does what she or he needs to and then logs out. The next student logging in gets a completely fresh unchanged pc to work with: this repeats itself throughout the day. A 1am (e.g.) the pcs unfreeze, and a push server installs any MS Updates - or other, and then they are refrozen. This version may have some modifications to it to make it more user-friendly - I hope so - as I've often thought about using it as a single-user, but that version was not available prior to this being released. I may be a bit out of date, as this looks to be specifically single user. It certainly needs to be researched very thoroughly before committing to an installation, as there are many questions which this will create.

Thanks for the input guys. The classroom is exactly where I plan to use it for a simulator that I am building. this way the "meddlers" will not cause me any un-necessary work.

Absolutely the very best application on the market, Simeon. How many pc's are you looking to lock down?

At least 30 in one air traffic control lab and 6 in the flight simulator lab
