just getting back into things, a few questions...

I am getting back into flight simming after a few years off. I just got a new computer and have; FSX (with the expansion pack)FSBuildPMDG 737NGX I used to use ASv6 back in the FS9 days along with FSUIPC I assume that I have to get ASE now (no problem) What I assume I can do to get upper level winds into the sim ispurchase FSEsomehow get FSBuild to inject upper winds into its flight planning from ASEsomehow get ASE to inject these winds into FSX is this correct? I do not do online stuff and dont need realtime current wx nor do I have FSUIPC anymore (may be able to still get it though). I only got FSUIPC back in the day to smooth out the wind shears. Does FSE take care of that now? just trying to get things set up again, thanks.

ASE will let you do all that, either manually to your preference, or automatically. FSUIPC is still a good choice for wind smoothing though. Note that there is a specific reference to PMDG aircraft and a possible tweak you might have to do when using ASE, which is covered in the ASE manual, so be sure to read that. Al
