Unable to install AS6.5 in my new rig

Featured Replies

Hi, Two months ago my previous computer started to fail seriously. So I decided to buy some components and build a new rig. I am now in the phase of installing all the programs we use for flight simulation. My new rig runs W764b and my flight simulator is FS9. This evening I have tried to install Active Sky v6.5 in my new computer, but it is impossible. Every time I have tried it the AS6.5's set-up program has failed while trying to install MS .Net Framework v1.1. I have had a look into my rig's control panel, and I have seen there is installed MS .Net Framework v4. I think it was installed the first time windows update did its work after the OS installation. Please, help me. I bought this product (AS6.5) in 2007, and I can not imagine flying without the real meterology of this add-on. Thanks in advance for your support. Regards,Vicente. PD: Sorry for my English. I have tried to do my best.

Hi, I have seen a few people has seen my post, but I nobody has post a solution for my issue. Thus I wonder if this forum is only used by HiFi Simulation products' users or if this forum is usde by HiFi Simulation itself to give support to ther product's users. ... I think the solution to my problem should come more from the HiFi Simulation side than from other users' experience side because the issue is not regarding the use of the product but regarding the installation proccess of it. Regards,Vicente.

Hello Vicente, Sorry for the delay, Sunday is a day off (although we we were here several times on Sunday, just not in the evening!). Also please note that official support is provided via our helpdesk (http://www.hifitechinc.com support button). Please sign your real full name as this is a HiFi forum requirement. As to the problem itself, which OS version are you running? Have you attempted installation of .NET framework 1.1 by itself? Here is a link: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26 Does this help?

Hello Damian, I am the one should say sorry to you. I did not know you were in California ... and, obviously begining your labour time when I wrote my post. The OS running in my new rig is Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 bits. In my former rig I had installed Windows XP 32 bits. I will try to install the .net framework 1.1 through the link you posted and let to know you if it works. Thanks for your help. Regards,Vicente.
