January 17, 200422 yr Has anyone out there got / had an annoying static overlay sound with some 3rd part addons? It seems to be on a loop & comes and goes in a wave, but engine sounds can be heard behind it.eg- I downloaded an A320 with it's own panel and default sound (737-400) and the problem was there,It seems to be panel based, as it has also happened with various panels on various 3rd party planes. The problem seems to isolated to jets, and not all addons cause a problem. It makes no difference if the plane is using default or addon sound files eg PA CFM56 sounds. The default planes all sound ok.Any help would be gratefully received as this didn't happen in FS2k2!CheersPaull
January 18, 200422 yr Your not alone, I have had that a couple of times and I am using the latest Creative Labs Audigy sound card. Don't have a clue what causes it or how to correct it because it is so random?misery loves company...
January 18, 200422 yr PaullI had exactly the same problem and it gets worse with time. I removed my sound card from PCI slot 2, uninstalled the drivers, replaced sound card in PCI 5 then reinstalled drivers. This was about two weeks ago and so far no sound problems. I'm using a Soundblaster Live X Gamer card. I also ran the diagnostics program (included with the driver set) right after installing the drivers. I read somewhere that this is important to do.Hope this helpsDavid
January 18, 200422 yr Thanks for the info - I'm using a Soundblaster Live! card & can't find a diagnostics program. Was your problem intermitent like mine & Ponyboyz?I'll let you know if moving the sound card etc works for me!Thanks againCheersPaull
January 18, 200422 yr PaullThere is a shortcut to diagnostics at StartProgramsCreativeSound Blaster LiveCreative Diagnostics. If you don't have it you should download the latest driver set. Yes, the problem was intermitent but over time it got much worse (less intermitent) and effected most or all of my aircraft. The problem began right after I installed a particular aircraft so I assumed that to be the cause. However, shortly after, I repartioned and reformatted my hard drive, reinstalled FS9, and the first time I ran it the sound problem was still there. I read in this forum that it's possible for a program to to alter settings in a sound cards firmware, causing unpredictable problems. Running diagnostics is supposed to restore the proper settings in firmware. Let me know how things work out. David
January 19, 200422 yr Hello Guys I'm experiancing the same problem. I'm useing the SB 5.1 Platium card. I tried changing PCI slots in order to give the card it's own IRQ. Uninstall and reinstall audio drivers. Remove and reinstall FS 2004 with default settings. I still get an intermittent hum and it gets worse when I undock a panel window to a 2nd monitor. I think my next step is to start removeing AC packages to see if that makes a difference.Any help or sugestions??Bill M Bill McIntyre Asus StrixB650E-F Gamer, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, Corsair Titanium DDR5 64GB, Samsung 990 PRO-4TB M.2, (4) 2TB SSD's, Corsair H1150i liquid cooler, RTX 2080TI Founders Edition, (2) LG 34" HD Curved Monitor, Sound Blaster Audigy X, 1Kw PC Power & Cooling Power Supply, Corsair Obsidian Full tower Case.
