Help with Shoot voice program

Featured Replies

Ok you guys, This is a plea from you guys who have managed to get this program to work. From what I've been reading, it seems everyone but me has managed to download it, install it, and off they go into the wild blue yonder, tickled-to-death at this awesome freeware program. Well, I've been struggling with this confounded program since I d/l'ed it. First off, I had, and continue to have, some kind of conflict between the speech recognition engine and my microphone volume. The slider is continuously dropping down to the bottom. I downloaded the "basic" MS speech recognition program and used it over the Speech SDK that the Shoot website advised us to download. I managed to get through the training segments with this version. NOW, outside of FS, the Shoot program is flawless, I go down the entire list and it recognizes every word. Well, when I enter FS, it seems that every time I attempt to speek, I'm getting that annoying "honk" noise that Shoot makes. And it continues repeatedly. I alt/tab out of FS, look at the shoot interface, and it's continuosly stuck on the 8 (speak 8) command. I'm at a loss. I believe the sound from FS is overriding my voice. Any thoughts anyone? I don't believe getting this thing up and running should be this difficult. Thanks fellas,Tony P

Hi Tony,I am working on something regarding this, but here is what I did.1) Are you using a headset, or just another microphone.a) I am not using a headset, so I ensure the TV is off, and the door is closed. I have read where even a cheap headset will help.2) I too experienced the honk when flying once in a while. here is what I did.a) With a simple html editor, open the profile in the shoot/profile directory, look at the sound scetion at the bottom, and do this.I changed the volume from 100 down to 50,50,50,70 and then also changed the not-recognized wave to the recognized one. :( read up at the website and configure a PTT (Push To Talk button), this way you only enable speech when you want to and then you no longer have to worry about errant voice commands doing things, or buy a cheapo headset. Here is the link to the documentation from the shoot site. This should work for you.http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/documentation.phpc) read up on that page about the microphone sampling rate, as well as the push to talk section..3) What profile are you using?4) What are your system specs? OS, vid, sound card, etc... Running MSFS in windowed, full screen, background noise, headset or not? These should clear you up, let me know if they don't, and I'll come up with something else.BTW - I do not know the developer, or have any other interests in this. I just like the program, and the fact that it is 100% FREEWARE, and THAT I support.
