Other planes during lessons?

Featured Replies

Is there a hack that allows one to use another plane during the lessons? I doubt that it would work during the actual lessons, but at least during the free flight ones it should.

Hi,I am not certain I have this correct as I am only going by a post I have seen about this in the past. I have not actually tried it. So hopefully someone will step in here if I am wrong and back up your .FLT file(s) first before editing it!Open up the .FLT file of the lesson you want to change the aircraft for using 'Notepad'. I'll use 'Solo-Comm-Engine Failure.FLT' as an example. Scroll down to the [Plane.0] section. You'll see the entry underneath is 'Aircraft=Beech Baron 58'. Now, if you open up the the 'aircraft.cfg' for the Baron 58, it's in the folder 'beech_baron_58' you notice the line 'title=Beech Baron 58'. So what you do is go to the aircraft that you want to replace the Baron 58 with for this lesson and open up it's 'aircraft.cfg' file. Say the Lear 45. You see the line 'title=Learjet 45'.So in the 'Solo-Comm-Engine Failure.FLT' file replace the line...Aircraft=Beech Baron 58withAircraft=Learjet 45And now if this hack works you would end up flying this lesson with the Lear 45 instead of the Baron 58. Maybe I'll try this out myself sometime soon but let us know if it works anyway. ;)Cheers and Good Luck,Jim

Try the easiest way,Choose the lesson, click FLY NOW, once the flight is loaded, press ALT, and check the menu that will appear at the top of the screen. Then press Aircraft (starting from the left the second menu I think) and "Select aircraft". With that you can choose any plane.Although it works perfectly well with a regular flight, I am not sure that this will work in a lesson, since lessons have many things disabled, such as the Auto Pilot. Being really simple to do I think is worth to try.Good luck Leo

Hi,I want to let you know I tried out what I posted above but it didn't turn out quite right. The panel on the plane I tried to subsitute in was scrunched looking. :-hmmmJim

Nope - that option is grayed out in the lessons - hence my question about a hack.

Just resize the panel by clicking and dragging the edges of the scrunched panel. Barry

Hi Barry,Allright, I didn't think about that. I'll do. Thanks!Jim
