Minor Performance Upgrade Required

Featured Replies

Hey team, Looking for a little bit of advice. My current system, specs below, can still be brought to its knees in some situations for example (Complex addon aircraft, full WOAI, REX, ASE, FSDT JFK, UT, GE PRO, FS Global etc). I have done most the common tweaks, set FS9 prioroty to high and assign it its own core etc but still just not quite there with performance eg sometimes in (low to mid teens with fps). Any tips on which of the following components (in what order and to what) I could upgrade is appreciated. I'm not comfortable with overclocking. Win XP 32Q9550 quad core @ stock 2.8Ghz9800GTX+ 512MB4GB RAM (cant remember what speed and understand only 3GB of this will be used)Gigabyte P5QL Pro mobo Thanks Scott

Without going to the expense of the extremes, you already have one of the strongest cpus for the 775. Without overclocking your not going to see any difference. Buy a descent cooler and overclock that thing. Plenty of tutorials on the web. The only thing that will make a difference is a new nvidia graphics card but that will be minimal with that stock cpu frequency so your really just going to be throwing good money after bad. Other than that, Lower your settings to something resonable to the flight your loading.
