... like I just did! I should have started this way. Plenty of info.I just downloaded it to see how it would work for me. Very simple to use. Haven't tried a flight with it yet, though. I'm anxious to compare frame rates to FS RW-weather.

Many thanks for this. I had thought FSMetar was payware and had not realized that it was freeware.Have read the review and am now dowloading the program.CheersMike

Hi,Thanks for the responses. I downloaded FSMETARS but have not installed it yet. Please let me know your impressions when you use the program.Still working on the FSUIPC situation. I was going to install my two month old Ultimate Traffic program when a note in the box warned of conflicts with their version of FSUIPC (they used the FS2002 version) and FS9. I don't have any version of FSUIPC yet so I'm trying to get more info before installing FSMETARS which requires the new version of FSUIPC. Egads! it's tough being a newbie.Have a good 4th.Tom:-zhelp

After d/l and install yseterday, used FS Metars on a flight last night (KMSP-PANC). I let is collect metars from VATSIM servers. It was nice to ba able to type in PANC while sitting in Minneapolis and fine out the weather conditions in Anchorage. As you fly, a message appears as you approach each reporting station displaying the metar.Since my FSUIPC is still unregistered, I had to contend with the wind bug in the 757 I was in. I may register in order to try the gradual wind change feature.First overall impression was positive for me. Simple to install and use. I'll continue using for a while before making my final decision. I like the ability to save weather for future use for when I get some "interesting" weather. Go and get FSUIPC, BTW. Pretty straighforward

Hi,I printed out the "FSMETAR" (release1.5.2)(Ivan Jose Alvarez)user guide yesterday and on page #3, under installation, there is a paragraph regarding registration of "FSUPIC" (Peter Dowson). The user guide is in pdf format(I think). Thanks for the feedback regarding "FSMETAR."Tom
