October 9, 201114 yr Hello guys, perhaps you have an idea how to solve this: For FSUIPC there are some addon aircraft (like the Eaglesoft Cirrus SR22) where it was neither possible to make a mouse macro (no clickspot response) nor tracing som LVars to find out what code presses the switch (here the GNS430 1 and 2 unit of the Cirrus). So I installed LINDA and the GUI is really good, but even here no matter what settings I make for the tracer there is no response for the buttons, in this case for all the buttons/knobs of the GNS430 unit of the Cirrus. Well dealing with a mouse for this unit during flying is really awful, even a touch LCD is not a good solution (especially for the rotary knobs). So it would be more than perfect, when I would be able to assign those buttons/knobs of the GNS430 units zu my MCP Combo Panel. I have read in the forum of Pete Dawson that some modules are not accessible for FSUIPC. I don't know why this is so. I also do not understand the option with the "offset", to be true, the FSUIPC manual is not easy to read at all, but perhaps the offset is not important for this issue. To mention also: When I used the Keymapper of VRInsight for my MCP Combo Panel it was possible to assign mouse klick spots on a 2D panel (with x and y offsets for a 2D-window). But now I would like to only use LINDA. So has anyone of you an idea, how to find out those hidden variables for this special click spots or is this not possible at all? I can not imagine, that a mouse klick, no matter if in the virtual cockpit or in the 2D-cockpit cannot be found/scanned/traced and therefore also assigned to a hardware controller. I am sure there is a solution which works in LINDA or with it together. Thanks a lot for your help in advance!
October 9, 201114 yr Hello, unfortunately, LINDA is not better than FSUIPC, because LINDA uses FSUIPC ... maybe with the Tracer some steps are a bit easier. But some addons are very tricky ... I can't give you more advice then try and search.Have you activated the controls tracing? Press a ke and look if there any controls or offsets where used.As example, PMDG used in former addons the control Rotor Brake for everything with different parameters. They use with the NGX now a different set of controls and LVars to do their stuff. But I do not own the SR22, so I could not help you... sorry. Another example is the FSLabs Concorde where I have gathered some controls, but for the most functions I have absolutely no success. At this stage, the only thing you could do i ask the developers itself to help you. Best example is again PMDG: they have included after a request now LVars for the AP displays.A bad example is FSLabs: they have promised support, but never responsed again. October 11, 201114 yr Author Hi guensell, I have tried everything, no way to find out these hidden variables/keys, not worth to spend a week of time to find a switch without any success. Key2mouse is not an option for me, as it is outdated, not free and depends on an open/active 2D-panel and its position/size. My conclusion for any switch, which cannot be reached by mouse macro (FSUIPC) or tracing L-variables (LINDA): Use a touchscreen LCD monitor (e.g. Acer T230H) for button presses which cannot be assigned the normal way (LINDA, FSUIPC), Disadvantage: for rotary knobs the only passable way for control is using the mouse to position over the knob and the wheel to rotate the knob. Alternative: Key2mouse only for the rotary knob. Advantage: look and position of switches is original as has not to be programmed. Smaller touch LCDs look nice, but concerning the cost/value you get the most with an 23" touch LCD, as you have enough space to position even the complicated cockpit layouts (e.g. 2D-overhead panels). The dream: high-res VR-glasses with active 3D-surround view, force-feedback/sensitive handshoes for touching/feeling the virtual reality cockpit, but I know, not in this decade ;-)! Thank you for your experience and words, greets from rider007!
October 13, 201114 yr Author Hello guys, unbelievable, I have found those assignments for the GNS430 Unit of the Eaglesoft Cirrus SR22 Turbo: In LINDA select for your desired button "FSX standard controls" and then in the filter list "6661", now you will see all those needed commands to assign ;-)!!! This was only but really luck, I have not been keen on searching some variables today ;-). I hope this will help all the others flying the best GA aircraft in the world. Happy landings and greetings from rider007!
