January 22, 200422 yr I just found the site and registered. For starters I just want to add a piper supercub to the available planes on my MSFS'02.I assume this requires downloading the appropriate (super cub) file (.gif?) from the library and adding it to the correct directory on my computer. Can somone provide confirmation of these basic steps, file types and directory names???Thanks
January 22, 200422 yr Author Welcome!Your assumptions are partly correct - you do need to download the aircraft, and install it to appropriate directories. The files are archives, so .zip usually. The archives contain numerous files of various extensions, one of which - readme.txt or read.me - will include instructions on how to install the plane that you've downloaded.I've done a quick search of the library here for you and cannot find a super cub, HOWEVER, I'd highly recommend this file:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...04ac&DLID=34821which is the Lyons' classic cub which is a former payware plane, now available for free. See their website http://windrfters.com/ for some other custom classics, some of which are free, others are payware. This particular file is found in the FS2004 original aircraft category, but I believe it is compatible with FS2002 as well. It is one of the finest examples of a Piper Cub that can be found. It comes with so much more than just the plane as well - scenery, sounds. Using a program such as winzip, simply extract this archive into you main FS2002 folder with the 'extract folders' option enabled. After this, like the rest of us, spend hours a day downloading gigs of planes and scenery from the library here and enjoy this hobby to it most!Feel free to post any other questions!Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
