January 25, 200422 yr Yes..yes..please some fluid gauges, especially the HSI, or attitude indicator and the heading indicator. I finally upgraded to a high end system and video card from my old PIII 450. I loaded FS2004. It runs as smooth as can be, high frame rates, great....except the gauges haven't improved a bit over FS2002 and my old system. I primarily do IFR practice and small corrections cannot be made with these jerky movements. The best I had seen previously was the FSD AC115 in FS2000. Both attitude and heading were very good. I bought their upgrade for FS2004. I like being able to increase the size of the IFR panel, the plane flys smoothly, but the gauge movement is typical FS2002/4 quality. This issue is my number one complaint with the various versions of MS FS. Maybe I should try the Meridian. If anyone knows of another one they recommend I'm interested. Roger
January 25, 200422 yr speaking of fluid gauges, X-plane does come to mind. I got absolutly fluid gauges in every aircraft I fly in X-plane, EFIS or analogue. Try the free demo at www.x-plane.com. I hope FS has this kind of gauges. But I must admit X-plane aircraft panels is quite lacking thought speaking airliners.
January 25, 200422 yr I just bought xplane (again) for that very reason last night.Of course I started immediately on doing two realistic cockpits made from real aircraft I fly- :-)Too many missing gauges there though (like a single/dual manifold/fuel flow gauge)-always frustrating! After 1 hour of work:http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
January 25, 200422 yr Author >I just bought xplane (again) for that very reason last>night.Great!!! When the X-Plane versus MSFS flight dynamic debate comes up........... we can always use your input! :)L.Adamson FS2002/FS2004/X-Plane versions 7.10/7.30/7.40edit: No doubt IMO ---- that the X-Plane guages are superior in animated movement to those of MSFS. But yet, I still trust the FS2004 navigation data-base a lot more than X-Planes for IFR flight. The "old" X-Plane could be a mess for navigation, then the world model was changed & I havn't gave it a real chance. But then I hear of descrepencies in the beta versions of 7.40......... so who knows.
