Any english panel for antonov an-24rv??

Featured Replies

This plane seems fantastic, but this panel its to dificult to understand. there is any modification for this panel? Thanks.

Mordrag,May I humbly suggest that, since the panel is a faithful representation of some versions of the real aircraft, it is not the panel that needs modifying. You can struggle with a Russian dictionary or find someone who speaks Russian and ask them for help. You can look carefully at the documentation included in the manual for the Tu-104 package (another fantastic aircraft), which gives a few hints to operating some of these kinds of instruments. Learning to navigate using the ADF radios in the default DC-3 is also helpful. Best of all, you can practice your hand-flying skills while carrying out test flights and experimenting by trial and error until you learn what the various gauges and instruments do (or don't do, because some of them do nothing, or in any case, nothing useful!). Remember that this aircraft was not designed to use ILS or even VOR navigation and, as someone pointed out not long ago, perhaps on this forum, any Aeroflot pilot who attempted to fly a "coupled approach" or who even began an approach with the autopilot on would have been fired. Things are not done in exactly the same way all over the world. If it's all too much effort, then there are lots of great FS turboprop alternatives -- the YS-11, or Frolov's Dash-8 -- where everything is in English. Not everyone can play the violin. And not everyone wants to!All the best,Wang

That may be all well and good, but after all it's only a game and maybe some of us just want to try and fly this aircraft without learning russian or using trial and error. I just gave up flying this thing since it takes too much effort, which is really a shame since I think it's the best turbo prop out there. They could have left the panel in russian but maybe have something like anenglish test show up when you move the cursor over the gauge or something.Regards/Mikkel

When i say modification,i say words over the gauges, or something similar. Not changes in the gauges or another panel. thanks.

Hello Mikkel"maybe some of us just want to try and fly this aircraft without learning russian or using trial and error."Well, that's what I meant about the violin. It takes a lot of time and work and some (like me) were too lazy as kids to learn. If it was easy, then everybody would be Paganini! I wish I could read Russian, but I can't. Maybe some kind person will produce a brief guide to this panel, but I can't do it. Maybe if, when I was younger, I had had some game that made me learn Russian, then I could be the one that produces a guide for the An-24. Finally, however, I think it is possible to have some fun with this aircraft even without knowing all the systems. The manual for the Tu-104 (in English) tells how to get the equivalent of an RMI working, and of course the airspeed and altitude gauges only require having a little table to convert metric to English units. (There's also shift+Z). Then with a little practice it's not impossible to learn to use the ADF to fly NDB approaches, which is the kind they flew using this aircraft in Aeroflot. I don't believe that the VOR is operative on this FS model. I also don't think that the engines are modeled with any particular degree of realism (certainly nothing like Frolov's Dssh-8 or the YS-11). So the sounds are great, the handling is great, the visual model is great, and it doesn't take all that much trial and error to learn how to fly it in a realistic way. All the best,Wang

Thanks a lot...excatly what I've been looking for. :D

Yes, this looks like great stuff for all of us who are Russian-challenged. Thanks a million for the link!Wang

Thanks for the link . A great help to fly this plane.:):)
