Modifying aeroplane .cfg files for dummies

Dear all,Is there a guide out there?Specifically, I want to change the take off characteristics in Bill Lyons' cub, which takes off way to soon (I fly a 95 HP supercub and the ground run in reality is much longer).Any ideas?

I used to fly (fly? More like a powered glide!) a 65hp cub and it seemed just right. I found the overall flying characteristics to be much more pleasant and lifelike than the default, given the limitations of FS. In a gentle breeze on a grass runway, with a modest slope, two up, I used to get the old girl off in about 300-350 feet. Bill's model does about the same, solo but I don't know whether it's fitted with a cruise or climb prop as that certainly might account for the difference.Allcott

?? Odd. Taking off in the Supercub, you have probably 100-150 yd roll with the tail down. Then you have to make a small but definite forward push on the stick to get the tail up. After another 100 yd perhaps, you get to 40-5 mph and away you lift.I find with Bill's cub, the a/c pretty much reaches 40-45 in 50 yds or so (if that).I'm flying it with the FS2K4 fix.

Check your weight - well not yours, per se ;). Maybe you've got to load up some fuel and pounds...?
