I would give credit if I knew to whom I should give credit for the photo. The only particulars I do know about these are...Aircraft type: F-15ELocation: Colorado Springs, CO (not sure if that's Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs Municipal, or the Academy)Gotta give the pilot props for holding this one together!

What happened here. Looks like the left main didn't come down at all.EDIT: OH, I see now. The center tank was blocking the nosewheel and I thought THATS what had blown out.

Look's like a torque knee failure!

Looks to me like he hit the brakes far too hard, locking up the port one, which dragged the locked tire, which made it go flat and spin around the rim. "Pilot Error". boo hiss.

I don't think it was the brakes. The wheel appears slightly rotated in much the same way the wheel rotates to retract. I'm guessing that whatever locks the wheel straight when down failed. Colin
