November 7, 201114 yr HiWorking through a new install of Active Sky Evolution SP3 and have come accross something that needs clarification. I've read the manual, however, cannot find mention of this. When the minimum visability is set to - let's say 1 nm, the FSX display will show the visability at 1 nm. However, as soon as I reach 2900 feet in altitude, the visability automatically switches to a distance greater than 1 nm. The same happens in reverse as you descend. You can see quite a way (greater than 1 nm), then when you reach 2900 feet the visability drops to the value set in the configuration screen. No doubt I don't quite understand something here. Can someone clarifiy this for me. Thank you, Iain WilloW (YMHB) flaps2approach.comB737-800 simulator
November 7, 201114 yr This would be normal FSX behavior, unless you have DWC with visibility graduation and smoothing set to on. Tom Link
November 7, 201114 yr Author Ah I see. I have DWC turned off. So if I turn on DWC this behavuiour will cease.I've heard that DWC can cause odd behaviours on its own accord which is why I left it as off by default, Iain WilloW (YMHB) flaps2approach.comB737-800 simulator
