Sound device not recognised

I have selected the speakers in the FSX sound options but there there is no sound device recognised in the NGX CDU- I am thus missing cockpit sounds etc. I bought the product after SP1 was released.I see that others have a similar problem but I am confused with the suggested solutions.David West

delete Direct X from the registry, and re install it. That did it for me.
